I like those little FBs... anyone gotten a hold of one and used it at all yet? I'm interested in knowing about the sheath... the Emerson La Griffe I had took both hands to get the damn thing out of the sheath. Ironic, since the S&W knockoff I had had a perfect kydex sheath design.

Anyway... looked pretty nifty, but it seemed to slip under my radar because I didn't hear about it or see it on the Spyderco site. Just now noticed it on NewGraham.

Here ya go, madcap.

The knife comes out of the sheath easily enough, but it's still tight and secure. Spyderco designs their kydex sheaths to be able to be "thumbed off", and this one works well. It's just a slip-sheath, but the holes without rivets are spaced to fit a Mini Tek-Lock.

Hi RLR, i know you have been involved in the design of the swick from the start, mine is on it's way from NGK, but i was wondering if the thickness is increased in comparisson with the SPOT? Iirc the swick was thicker in the proto but i don't know about the production model.

4mm vs 2.5mm, a lot thicker and heftier. Feels great in hand as a user, not just an in case knife. I use it for everything and drop it in pocket. Sheath is tight but pops off more easily than the original Spot.

Wow, I think the ergos on it look pretty nice... looks like I've already spent my tax refund for this year, and I haven't even filed yet. :jerkit:

I've been looking at this one for awhile now, but I just can't handle the finish. Cool to see an S30V fixed blade from Spyderco though. The blade styles are so opposite.....I would really like just a mild recurve.

What's the damage on this one?

I don't know, I kind of like the straight edge, it makes it relatively easy for a horrible sharpener like myself compared to the SPOT or the BM TK1.

The sheath is very tight, easy to get out with a thumb, but quite hard to put back in.
