Saw these a radio shack. any body got a pair. They look handy, but i am just not sure if they are worth the 40 bucks. Would you get one?/ How does the price compare to a regular squirt multi-tool?/

Thanks guys!!

I have one of these. The official designation seems to be Squirt EL (electrician?). And yes, the only place you can get it is Radio Shack. And yes, I did pay $40. I haven't seen it for less, and I haven't seen it anywhere else.

This is my second Leatherman (my first is a Wave I EDC on my belt in a horizontal sheath). The fit and finish are very good. The thing that separates this from other Leatherman micro tools is the full cross phillips, the others all have a flat philips. I would like it if the philips were pointier (like the Victorionox mini cap-lifter + philips tool). The tweezers are removeable and aren't anything special but seem serviceable.

The combo-jaws are the key strength of this unique tool. The strippers work well and the plier tip is also well made. There is a short cutting surface near the pivot, but not enough to be useable as scissors. They do cut CAT-5 cable nicely though.

The blade is quite thick for it's size and has a thick edge also. It is uhmmm, not terribly sharp but will cut paper after a fashion. I haven't thinned the edge or even sharpened it because I already have other blades which cut much better. The cutting surface is well positioned when only the blade is deployed.

The two flat screwdriver heads are single bevel (as are all Leatherman's I believe) and both come to a sharpish edge.

For it's size, it is very sturdy. I was thinking of using it as an EDC in my watch pocket, but my SAK manager has retained that position due to better scissors, thinner blades (a spearpoint and a sheepsfoot) and a better/pointier small philips driver. I would choose the EL over the P4, but the lack of useable scissors would make me prefer the S4 or Micra if I had to carry one micro-multitool. But that is only because I use scissors more than pliers on a regular basis (and I already have a Wave :) ).

snapper,I saw them at Radioshack and the Salesman told me they were a limited run for Fathers Day and when they're gone they're gone.tom.
