I have never gotten anything remotely useful in asking around other places and with other people. I really have no ideal as far as what is legal and what is not.

-what is the max length concealable
-what is the largest a folder can be
-how much has to be showing to be "not concealed"

Also, if it applies, the city of Atlanta has a local law that prohibits any blade over 3 inches to be carried under any circumstances. Sorry for the edit, had double posted my first message by mistake.

Georgia's law is lamentably vaguely written. "16-11-126 (Ga Code) states: A person commits the act of carrying a concealed weapon when such person knowingly has or carries about his or her person, *unless in an open manner and fully exposed to view*, any bludgeon, metal knuckles, firearm, knife designed for the purposes of offense or defense, or any other dangerous or deadly weapon or instrument of like character outside of his or her home or place of business."
That said, I have friends who are police officers in Cobb County who tell me that a knife clipped to the pocket will be considered concealed; however realistically hundreds of people carry knives in that manner and it's really more about what you're doing rather than what you have. I always have an Endura or BM710 clipped to my pocket, admittedly folders on the larger size. Having been pulled over and searched a few times, I've never had a cop here bat an eye at either one. Still worth keeping in mind though that since the law is so vague it's left more or less to the discretion of the police what is and isn't an "offensive or defensive" knife. To be totally safe, I've been told by same LEO friends that a folding knife carried in a belt pouch satisfies the "openly visible" requirement. Hope this helps.

I live in GA and was advised by a lawyer to carry a knife not designed for "offence or defense." For example, I have a Benchmade Doug Ritter. Even though it is just a Griptilian, this knife was "designed" as a rescue tool. Therefore, it can be carried concealed.

It sounds like that Georgia, with the exception of City of Atlanta/Fulton county, is a lot like Florida. You can carry darn near anything open, although Georgia has the "totally exposed" provision, and darn near nothing "concealed'
