I'm looking for opinions on the Polkowski Prowler. It sounds like it would be a small knife, but I have never seen one in person so...

Anyone out there have one? What are your opinions on it? I am thinking about getting either one of these or a Polecat.

Thanks!

I've only held a Prowler once. It felt pretty good in the hand, but I personally prefer the Polecat. IMO the Polecat has a better "feel" to it. It transitions to different grips well and being a narrow 4" blade carries very easily. Hey they're both Polkowski's, so you can't really go wrong.:D

The Polecat and Prowler are about the same size.

Personally, I'd go along with Dirk and recommend the Polecat.

I was wondering when the man himself would get in a word or two;)

I have to agree with Al and Dirk, the Polecat is my favorite model, and I have a whole gaggle(7 at last count)of Polkowski's to choose from:) I will however be looking into a single edge 8-Ball real soon.

Wow! It is always great to hear from the actual maker about their knives. Recommendations don't get much better than that! Thank you all for your opinions.

Looks like I need a Polecat!

Hey Jailhack - The sheath still works great! :)

Hey Ant..

Rest Assured...

If it has Polkowski on it,, it's a first rate blade..You can't go wrong anyway you look at it...:)

I second that.
I love all my Polkowski knives, but I must say that there is something special about the Scorpion! I wish I had one that had a 6-7" blade :)

Hi Ant,

Tried to email you offline, but you don't give out your email addy.

Contact me if your interested in a Polecat.

Les, I've seen in your site Polecat(440V)- 4 ½" blade length, but in knifeart for exsample -4". What is actual length ?

Ig,
I think the 440V is exclusive to Les. A very big plus,
Ya, the measurements for many of Al's knives are all over the place depending on who is talking. But I think they're all the same if they're the same model and design ie, a tanto CQ is different than the other CQ's, but I'd expect the Polecats to be the same.] Am I right about that?

HJK, true.

Polecat blade length is 4" measured from tip to the start of the handle material, at the top of the blade. Since the front of the handle is slanted rearward at the bottom of the blade, this measurement will be slightly longer.

I'm currently modifying the Polecat's blade length for Nakano. It will be just under 4" where ever you measure it.

I'll have this version at the NY Knife Show along with many other new designs.

Thanks guys,
Al P.
