anybody have a ton of disposable income ??

Doesn't look much different than one of their bowies, or the scuba/demo.

No way I'd pay 2,500 for a blade like that.

what a joke.

Haha I agree. You guys should see what the MSRP for this knife was... Maybe he was trying to get a quick sale & rip off unsuspecting customers? :foot: Who know's if he might be a bladeforums member? :D

Regarding the steel, on checking the old 2006 SOG catalog the steel was indeed '410J1'. :p

LeftytwoGuns: You're right. Looks (and probably is) identical to the original S1 Bowie.

Cheers,
Mark ;)
SOG Knives Collectors

It is identical the S1 but with a Damascus steel blade and the descriptions above are correct.

Well...it's a little too rare and a little too shiny for my personal taste, as I'm really not one for putting shiny knives in glass cases to try to impress people with at some later time. However it's value is a relative thing. It's value, just like every other rare and numbered piece, is not based on what it is made of or even who it is made by, but rather just how much it is wanted. It is basically as valuable as the highest bid. It's all relative...some collect Randalls, some collect Busses, some collect SOGs...it's all just a matter of personal taste. I bought a Gerber MarkII at a swap shop once for $30.00 and later sold it to a guy who collected 'Nam era Gerbers for $600.00, I would have never paid that much for it because I had no real use for the knife, but because it was an issue piece that the serial numbers traced to some time in 1968 he felt like he'd gotten a bargain.
