I tried searching first, but it didn't work for some reason. I've started on a lockback, just to get used to a folding blade, but I'm really interested in learning how to do a knife with an arc lock - like this

I am interested in this style lock because many people I meet don't like getting their finger close to the blade, as in liner locks, but they would like one-handed use. Does anyone have information on how to make a folder with this style lock? Any info is greatly appreciated. :)

You could do a patent search. But then again, building something that someone has already patented might not be a good idea imho.

Not that I'm aware of. You better look into patent issues before you plan on making any that aren't for personal use.
If you do some searching, I think you can find a a diagram of the internals. It follows the same principle as an axis lock, but the bar pivots rather than slides.
What would be more likely for you to be allowed to make, and would be much more simple is a bolt action lock. I don't think there are any standing patents on it and the mechanics aren't quite as complex.

I'm just looking for anything like that...axis, bolt, whatever. I just used the SOG as an example. Sorry, should have clarified that. :footinmou
I'll check around for axis and bolt lock. When I searched for arc on the search engine, it only turned up people selling a SOG.

I tried google, and didn't get anything. For some unknown reason my search isn't working here at bladeforums, or else I'd search for axis.

I finally found the axis lock patent, and a diagram, but it's kinda complicated  and hard to understand without a real knife...
As for the arc lock, it's still pending so I don't think I could find any diagrams via patent.
Any pictures/diagrams of the internals of a bolt lock that yall know of? Google isn't helping much in that area. :(
