Anybody have any experience with the Gayle Bradley Spyderco?

What climate do you live in? I live in a relatively dry climate and don't have any issues with rust on my GB. CPM-M4 does not rust as easily as plain old 1095. After cutting fruit, I only got a very slight patina.

If you are in a wet climate, you can always keep it with a light film of oil or other rust preventative. Wipe dry after use and it should not be a problem.

I have found that with minimal care Spyderco M4(Gayle Bradley, Bradley Air) rust is not that big of a deal.

Forcing a patina on it also aids as a natural rust protection and M4 really doesn' t rust that fast. I wouldn' t be worried about it if I were you.

I've had mine for about 2 weeks now, I life in south Florida, ( very humid), I work mostly on job sites on or right near the beach. I carry ( front jeans pocket) and use it everday many times a day and wipe it off on my jeans or my shirt. The first day I received it, I disassembled the blade, stuck it inside a mango for around 3 hours ( it took a very, very light grey patina), I have not oiled it or maintained it other than sharpening it up and I haven't had a single instance of any kind of bad rust.

I got one a couple of weeks ago. I live on the beach in Costa Rica so I was pretty concerned about the idea of rust. I spent a few days forcing a heavy patina on the blade hoping that would help with rust prevention. My opinion so far is it doesn't make much difference. If I had it to do over again I would NOT force a patina and would just put some tuff glide on the blade and use it. Mine is doing ok, but it's definitely not stainless. I usually carry it inside my waist band so the spine is touching my skin for hours at a time. I have to give it a wipe down here and there where I wouldn't have to on a stainless knife. It's not that bad though. I think if u live in a normal climate and carry the knife in your pocket you will probably never have an issue. Remember to wipe it off after food prep though.

Not stainless, but not a problem here in N FLA after mostly edc for a while.
i wash it after food use. It has discolored some, think I could clean it up with some wd40 and a scotchbrite type scrubby.
