My father passed away a couple weeks ago and left me these. They say J. E. Sims Edmond OK. I couldn't find anything and was wondering if anyone here was familiar with the maker. Thanks for any help.

Are there any markings on the opposite sides of the blades? I'm not sure Sims was the maker, but more likely the original owner. Most makers use similar styles for their marks. All three of these are in differing styles, as well as sizing. Also, most makers put their mark on the ricasso, or in some small spot on the side near the plunge line of the blade.(and recently, even this has changed, a lot of new production knives have such billboards) These look to me as if the owner had them engraved. The second looks like a Gerber-style dagger blade that has been re-handled. And I could be wrong on all of this, hard to say for sure without more information. Sorry I couldn't be of more help...

I'd bet solid money the middle knife (with the dagger blade) is made from a blade that used to be offered thru Dixie Gun Works. I built several of those back in the mid-70's.

I doubt there's anything to be found. They look like garage projects from an amateur bladesmith. The engraving was probably done by a local trophy shop or jeweler. The display plaques are clearly homemade as well.

Your dad liked them enough to keep them and someone, if not your dad himself was proud enough of them to mount and engrave them. I'd hang them somewhere private and let them remind you of your dad from time to time. My condolences for your loss.
