im thinking about getting this knife, but im a little worried about the handles (minor issue) and the thickness of it, does anybody have any pictures of the knife showing the thickness, maybe next to another knife? Can't find any on the internet.

Jack, no pics, but the BM website shows the models 580, 581 and 583 all have handle thickness of 0.650". This is fairly substantial. My BM 755 MPR has handle thickness of 0.610" and is called a bit of a "fat boy" by one reviewer, and that it'll make quite a bulge in the pocket. I frankly do not carry my 755 for this reason. I'm much happier with my Umnumzaan (0.465"), my ZT 0550 (.550"), my Spyderco Paramilitary 2 (0.450"), Military (0.550").
This will give you an idea at least. Some folks with larger hands prefer the thicker-handled models, but they do take up room in your pocket.

I have a 581 and its handle is pretty thick, especially compared to flatter models such as various Spydercos and my Benchmade Stryker. I don't mind its size but it is about the thickest that I would want to carry. It works fine clipped in my tight jeans but I can see where some people would think it is too thick.
