specifically the MC-5 gentleman's folder series with micarta handles, they look beautiful but I've never seen one in person. How is the fit and finish? has anybody owned and used one for an extended period of time? The MC-12d series also look sweet. Any thoughts?

I received one in a trade so there are some aspects about them I can't say because I don't know what the previous owner done with it. But the I can say that the fit and finish it very nice and after taking it apart and reassembling it the lock up is good.

Mcusta is known for very good fit and finish.

I have a Mcusta with African Ebony scales around here somewhere that is beautiful in fit & finish. A real artsy type knife that is tough as heck! :)

I don't have a Mcusta but I want one (ore more) really bad. They are beautiful high quality knives.

I have several. Solid all the way around. Great production knives.

Here is my favorite.

I don't have any personal experiences, but my dad bought one of their money clips, and there was some problem with it...returned it to the dealer, had it exchanged, and still had the same problem with the replacement...seems it was a design flaw...in the end my dad had it exchanged again, this time for a regular folder

They are very convincingly made. While not cheap, I think that they deliver good value.
One remark is that most models (including the gentlemen series) might be smaller than you expect.
FYI, I made a concise YouTube review about the MC-75D "Take" where you can see it in my average sized hand. I enjoy this knife since 2 years, it's excellent in my opinion.
