I want the Emerson Reliant but I've never handled any Emerson let alone the Hard Wear line. Does anybody have any comments on this knife? Is it worth the $47.99 at Knifeworks.com? Any info is welcome, even suggestions on other similar knives. Thanks a lot guys!

Edit: One of my concerns is the size of the thumb hole, I mean I know it's not a prybar (I have a few of those) but it just makes the blade itself look weakened.

I don't own one myself, but I got to play with one a while ago. As far as quality, it's at the same level as the Seki-manufactured Spydercos. Same OEM, actually, if I remember correctly. I liked it - better than the "real" Emersons, actually. I would have bought one but the store I go to only had combo-edge models in stock. The grip is nice, and the handle is well-sized - at least, I thought so.

As for the thumb hole, it looks big, but it didn't really bother me. The knife is a cutter, a lot more so than the USA-made Emersons. In person, I didn't get any flimsy vibes from the knife.

Hope this helps!

I also own one, and I have to agree with both of the above posters. It is a good knife for the money, very comperable to the Seki Spyderco's. It is much lighter than any of my American made Emersons. The thumb hole works well and really is not too big. Go ahead, get one. You'll like it.

Thanks! I'm gonna pick one up on the 1st. Besides KnifeWorks.com are there any other sites with say a better price?
