My Kabar/Dozier thorn keeps opening and not locking with the blade going past the locked position then hitting the back of my hand. There is nothing to stop the blade. When opening it slow it hardly ever locks right and I have to move the blade around to get it to lock. Any one have these problems or solutions.

I have never owned one of these knives, but from what you are describing, this knife needs to go back to Ka-Bar for service.

Keith is right, send it back. I have two Thorns, and the action is as crisp and tight as any knives I've ever owned. Any sloppiness is not characteristic and should not be acceptable.

I have two Thorns and no problems at all. I sure many of you know this, but you can actually open the blade lightning fast with a little practice. Rather than open it with the thumbstud in the normal manner, try pushing the thumbstud forward (like your are actually pushing it into the handle) with a medium amount of pressure. You will be suprised how quick this thing opens.

It sounds like you just got a bad one, I have one and it is one of best little folders I own.
