I'm looking for one - needs to be around 12"x9"x2" in size but no larger.

Thanks for the help.

Dan

You could try Pelican cases (Peli cases,Torrance CA) They do loads of different sizes and for many applications. Strong and waterproof.
I have on similar to the size you wnat except its 5" deep. Its called a 1200 case

That's what I was going to recommend if you're carrying gear. Trojanargus beat me to it. :D

wow.....y'all are quite creative-minded. great suggestions - got me thinking.

I need something more tote-ish, though....to carry my planner, phone, keys, coupla knives , watch, light, etc. :D

I like the wood box idea....maybe I could outfit one with a nice handle, lock and corner protectors......like I said - got me thinking....

Keep the ideas coming...

What I need is a business tote, etc. I just want a smaller one - did the big leather tote thing for way too long. Time to go minimalist.

I bet you can find a nice messenger bag that size, in your choice of leather, vinyl, nylon, or canvas -- if you look in the right place. In with the women's purses....

There are two ways to do it. Either you tell everyone you see in a loud voice, "My wife is having a birthday and she wants a black or brown messenger bag 12x9x2 inches. I don't even know what a messenger bag is -- please help me!" -- or else you do your shopping in drag.

Sound like all you need is a laptop sleeve.

Sounds like the tool "box" that our computer repairman carrier. Its leather\pleather about the size of a thick notebook. He got it at Staples.

Yeah....I like Cougar's idea of sneaking into the ladies dressing room and yelling in a loud voice too.....

...or did I read that wrong?

 :D :p

looked at the nylon tact stuff - great ideas there.

eaglecreek - great stuff there too.....was hoping for some leather, though....

duluthtrading, countrycomm & chapmann - too big...

Got some great suggestions though - might end up making my own based on some of the ideas here. (just too overloaded to do it right now)

I was interested in the Traverse TAD - but it's sold out....:(

tonyccw - I like that Rhinoskin.....can you do me a favor? what are the inside "clear" dimensions?

Thanks!

Very close to the OD, only about 1/8" smaller. The sides are flexible so it can conform around the item.

I like the looks and prices at: http://www.frostriver.com/

Although I have not yet ordered or tried any of their stuff.
