Anybody here use iTunes?

Three dumb questions:

1) in the purchased music section I have noticed some squares to the left of the song titles. Some are blue, and have a checkmark, while others are white with no checkmark. All the tracks play. What does that mean?

2) For some time there was a counter next to each track telling me how many times it was played? Why would anyone need this info? Is there some sort of licensing thing involved? Right now that section (play count) is empty for all tracks. What's the deal?

3) Is there some sort of expiration date until when I have to burn those tracks? Or maybe a specified number of recordings?

1. you have the option of checking songs so you can only put certain songs on an ipod, or to burn certain songs to a cd. All my songs are checked..not a huge deal.

2. that is probably just so you can see what songs you play the most, like the Top 25 Most played songs. There is licensing and stuff, but you can listen to that music until your computer burns down....

3. The only restriction on buring is if you make a playlist to burn, you can only make 5 or 10 (I forget) burned cds of that particular playlist...but just make another one if you need it.

You own the music, with some restrictions, just like with cds/cassettes, except they have the power to enforce it this way.
