Anybody Know about Puma Knives?

I was in a store the other day exchanging a knife, and briefly saw some Puma knives with damascus blades for a too good to be true price. I didn't have time to ask about, handle or really look closely at the knives.

Does anybody know about them? Quality? Where they're made, etc.? Is $70 for a damascus knife just too good to be true, or is it a good deal?

They are made in Germany. Possibly, the damascus is from Pakistan but I don't know that. It isn't likely European, however, given the prices.

The damascus is made in Japan. I am having trouble finding which company. Maybe someone else will chime in.

I dont know about the damascus but I have a carbon bowie and its a real decent knife. Its made in germany and takes a really good edge. Iv had it for about 9 years. My favorite large fixed blade.

I've heard very good things about the Pumas; they're made in Germany and they're very tough, Rc65 and all that other jazz. Allegedly they're wonderful hunting knives.

I've seen damascus MCustas around for under 100 dollars, and those have very nice fit and finish and handle materials.

I don't have any experience with Pumas, but if the finish and/or scale material was of lower quality, I don't think a decent damascus blade at 70 bucks would be unreasonable.

Of course, that's just speculation on what could be made for $70, which doesn't necessarily correlate to what any particular maker did make for $70.

Do you have any pictures or any other info on these Pumas?

I don't know about the Puma damascus blades, but Kershaw has a Damascus Leek for a very reasonable price. I believe the damascus is USA made.

I need to look into the Pumas, though, as all I've had from them were great quality.
