anybody know about tugboats?

The only thing I remember from a documentary is that they draw in alot of water which gets shot out of a tube under the boat. The tube rotates 360 degrees allowing the tug to turn 360 degrees on the spot. All this water passes through a metal filter before reaching a high pressure pump. The filter continually gets filled with seaweed and so forth and requires frequent cleaning. :)

Dijos,
I'm working on an MA in Maritime History and Underwater Archaeology. While I do not know much about tugboats myself, if you can snap a pic and email me I'm sure I have access to plenty of information in the local library's maritime section and through my professors to provide you with some data.
I've seen that dukes of hazzard towboat thing before and I'm pretty sure it actually happened. A friend of mine was in the Merchant Marine for a while and was told the story as an example of what not to do. Apparently the man who told him about it actually knew the captain.

I've run them a few times before. A picture would be quite helpful.

Dijos, that's just CRAZY! Haven't seen that happen before. .
