I picked this up today, and I have never seen this model...
It has no #,or anything like that....I have seen the similar type handles, but the knife blade
has a swedge that i've never saw on Schrade.....Or this type Schrade.

Is it a keeper?
I like it,but it is kinda small...
Has snap,half stops,etc....
Thanks for looking,and a reply....

When looking up a Schrade Cut Co, the catalog is organized by closed length within the main catalog then the supplements

Larry's excellent reference site has the Schrade Cut Co catalogs
http://www.collectors-of-schrades-r.us/

Start at 1928 and go forward thru the supplements
http://www.collectors-of-schrades-r.us/Catalogs/images/1926_Schrade_Catalogs.pdf - Fun catalog to browse

If 3-5/16", probably a Model 2344 then a letter - not sure which letter goes for the style of celluloid
Was later called K-Horn

You'll find it -- it eventually became the Schrade Walden, then Schrade USA model 234K

Keeper? There are others that use that same K-Horn celluloid and then later done in delrin - up to you

Edit - Anyone care to comment on the clip blade swedge style? I think it's Camillus-style

I get you. As a somewhat newbie collector I take these questions as if they were my own.

I found a blade called the Half Sabre Clip that looks exactly like yours on the serpentine jack knife 2943. Different skins and longer but the same blades. Yours seem to be the same size as the 2725.
Obviously the name changed sometime between 40 and 47 just based on the catalogs. Oh found the info in the 47 cat.

Again I'm sure one of the experts will be along or maybe they are over at the AAPK schrade subforum.

It's a 27243/8K from page 83 in the 1930 catalog. You gotta look hard sometimes.

This knife is a Schrade peanut pattern. Same as the 272 Schrade Walden only it has the half sabre clip master blade. They called this celluloid Brown Lined Cream Pyralin back then. You can see all of the variations they had in 1930. 3/8 at the end of the pattern indicates a half sabre clip, while 3/4 indicated a plain clip. These fraction designations indicate the substitutes for a spear master blade. This swedge is typical from this time period on the half sabre clip as FatCity mentioned on the 2943 pattern. I think the "Butter & Molasses" handles were only placed on this pattern as a Schrade Cut Co. I do not recall seeing a Schrade Walden stamped version with this particular handle on this pattern. As a side note, in the price lists from 1932, this knife was sold to a dealer for $9.00 per dozen. :D

Good find.

It appears to be in very good shape for it's age. Is it a keeper? I would, but that's up to you if you really want to sell it to me. ;)
The guys really came through identifying it, didn't they?
