I could SWEAR I saw a CANON digital picture frame at my local Mike's Camera that looked just like my girlfriends Macintosh; it was all clear plastic and white.

They had them from $140-$200. So, I went to Amazon looking for a better price.

I can't find them anywhere online. Maybe I just imagined the Canon brand name.

I want to buy my girlfriend a good one ($130-$200) and, a BRAND name one.

I'm willing to spend the $$$ on her for the best, but I'd RATHER get a discount online than go to my local camera store.

Help me out?

.

Most electronics stores carry a digital picture frame that uses an SD card or similiar card. You load your pics onto the card and place it in the frame and it scrolls through the pics. Some of them allow you set a slide show via a remote. Other use a USB port to load the pics. I plan on getting one for a few family members.

I did some checking around and obviously these frames are popular for the holidays. Every online store I went to was either sold out or had them on back order.

Funny you should ask. I just did a thorough search two days ago, and finally settled on the second one in Esav's link. While it was 'available' in black.

So I added to my shopping cart with a couple other inexpensive things to help my gift giving.

Last night I get the email that the other items have shipped, but they include this promising note.... :jerkit:

Unfortunately, the items below from your order have not yet shipped.
There will be absolutely no additional charges for shipment of these products, and they will ship as soon as they are available.

10.5" X-Large Digital Photo Frame - Black Frame 1 $179.99

And so it goes. Saw what appeared to be a similar one at B&H in NYC today. Looked like quality. Their's was definitely NOT 10.5". What are they measuring? The frame or the screen. The description 'claims' the screen.

Ahhh, the chase...

I DID receive the digital frame today. And, it measures a true 10.5" across as advertised. I have not fired it up as it's a gift. (Plug in a CF card and it plays whatever files are on it.)

Good luck.

Search for the digital photo frames of Philips. They are very nice and are good quality:thumbup:

I had never seen one until just this morning. There's a store across the way from me that frames picures. They now have a digital frame in the window running a slide show. Very nice.

I Fired up the 10.5" version yesterday from thinkgeek.com. VERY impressive display. It even plays your uploaded .MP3's in the background (if you wish). (Made in China: 'Goodview' brand...??) Remote control and many transition adjustments.

I want one too. Worth the big screen look and it's bright!

The Phillips has great reviews everywhere. As usual from that company. :)
