Anybody know - How Busse and Swamp fit scales to tangs?

I have never quite figured out how Busse and Swamp Rat make there handles and then fit them to a coated knife. It seems that you would have more issues with the scales hanging over or inside the tang.

I don't believe the scales and tangs are all exactly the same and all interchangable. I have seen subtle variations on duplicates.

The only thing I have ever been able to come up with that seems like a plausible theory is that they fit the scales to the knife prior to coating the blade and somehow have a system for matching scales to blades. - Like a number on the inside of the scales and on the tang of the blade or similar. They might use some sort of temporary pin or something to hold the scales in place while shaping them.

(???????)

Anybody know?

I think they CNC machine all their blades and scales so the tolerances are close enough to where they just squash the bolster tubes on either end thereby affixing the scales to the tang. I think. Hell I don't know.

The Keebler elves just squirt 'em out of a big bellows in a hollow tree somewhere deep in the swamp.

That number theory pans out pretty darn close. :) There's numbers on the inside of every scale and on the tang of every knife.

2 + 2 = 3.14125

eh, what was the question?
