About 30 years ago I was given a Bowie style knife by a friend made by a maker named Cy Pearson. It was stamped No.1 on the left side of the blade and his name on the right side as you hold the knife and was 1 of 3 made, all the same. Stamped No.1, No.2 and No.3.
It has a differentially heat treated blade, (unknown steel but not SS) takes and holds a razor edge, double brass hilt and what I suspect is Iron Wood scales attached with brass pins. The handle is a bit narrow for my hand and the balance is off (Tip heavy) but overall I give the blade very high marks for durability and edge retention. It's a good chopper for sure.
The blade is 9.5" long and is 2" wide at the point of the recurve and 1.75" at the hilt. The handle is 5" long from the hilt. With the hilt being .25" this giving an overall length 14.75". It came in a nice box without any sheath.
I Goggled his name and was brought here.
Any help would be appreciated.
