I found this at a military show this past weekend. It says ka bar on the handle and very faintly on the blade.

You have a KA-BAR Model #2000. circa 1923-30; Give or take a few years. Aluminum hollow handle with a compass in the cap. There was also a hard rubber handled version (#3000) and aluminum and rubber handled versions of the #71 blade shape (clip point, blood groove and saber grind) (#2071, #3071)
