I need a bar of 1084 (or similar) that is at least 1.5" wide (preferably 2") and 1/8" thick (3/16" ok too).

Help!

Thanks...:D

"or similar".

I asked the same a short few weeks back. No 1084 could I find in the size I needed. I settled for 1075 from Admiral. What a fantastic blade it made too. If all else fails call Terry Summers at Admiral.

You may be able to find 1084 in 1/8th. I needed 1/4.

How wide was the stock in 1075?

Anybody got any other suppliers?

I could have got it not as wide if I wanted but I got 2 inch wide. I had to buy 5 feet of it (minimum - 40 some bucks counting shipping). 1/4" X 2" X 5 foot.

Dan I have some (couple feet) 1080 from Admiral. 1/4 inch thick 1.5" wide. Let me know if you want some, happy to send it your way.

Uh oh.

Ya think a different steel would work ok too? 1095?

Or ya wanna do something hot and sweaty with 5160 or 52100???

I've got a few old harrow teeth that are at least 2" wide, and probably 30" long when straightened. They act like 1084, but I'm not real sure. I'd be glad to let you have one, if you want to work with some "mystery steel."
