Anybody know where to find 1" x 6" thin ceramic stones?

Was thinking they would be a less messy alternative than the waterstones on my edgepro.

Check out EZE-Lap's diamond hones. They range from 250 to 1200 grit. I have their coarse stone for the "ugly work" and it works very grand on the E/P.

41SF Super Fine Grit (1200)
42F Fine Grit (600)
42M Medium Grit (400)
42C Coarse Grit (250)

The congress stones should be used with stoning oil or water too... Think Ben uses Boride stones. Gesswein and Falcon also make tool and die-maker finishing stones. If you want to go dry, I'd suggest one of the oil-filled stones. You can probably use the boride Edge Pro stones dry too, but they'll cut better/clog less with a lubricant.

Yes, stoning oil: http://www.congresstools.com/congresstools/catalog?action=getcat&parent=34 or http://www.moldshoptools.com/catalog/list.php?category_id=127

Last I heard Ben was using some of Boride's stones http://www.borideabrasives.com/polishing_stones.php for making the Edge Pro, though I hear from someone who visited him that he has boxes of stones he's experimented with so maybe some are a different brand. Falcon, Gesswein, Congress and Boride are the main suppliers of this type of stone.

I believe the Spyderco ceramic pocket stones are 1" x 5". Not quite 6" though.

Thanks a bunch ginaz, I think I can find just what I want there.

Did you ever order the stones from there? I am interested to see how they turned out.

There are a lot of choices on the site which one would be similar to the edgepro stones?
