Anybody like leather inlays?

This is the only model of Chris Reeve knives that never really seem to get any praise.

Are there any fans of leather inlaid Sebenzas?
What do you like about them?
 
I'm not sure why they aren't more popular. They do a nice job with them, IMO.

Personally, I like the regular platform more than the classic, though some wood inlay classics and the new micarta inlay classics have the potential to bring me onboard. For whatever reason, having an inlay as soft and vulnerable to getting roughed up as leather disturbs and concerns me.

Just my opinion, as there are obviously a lotta people who dig them!

I am in agreement with the Professor on this, I like the regular profile better, but the Micarta and other enlays are starting to grow on me, alot.

How well does the layer stand up for daily use?

I agree with Professor. The micarta inlays have started to grow on me recently.
 
i like my leather inlaid classic!

the inlays do hold up- you cant get them out if you wanted to

Mine is the same as Super D's but reg blade. I carry mine alot I like the inlays alot, it has never really been an issue that they are leather, they get wet, they get dirty but they have not shown wear. I really like it.
 
It is susceptable to rot, hardening, and scuffing. But, it seems a lot of people with CRK don't use the knives and those that aren't used, leather works fine. Just my opinion.

I'm coming on board with my first CRK next week. Be on the lookout for special Seby that I'll post pix of.
