Large whittlers. I picked this RR back before Christmas. Im really starting to like it.

Did Case or any other company make this pattern.I would really like this in cv or a similar steel. Thanks for looking

What size is that one?

GEC do their version of Whittler Heavy too.

That looks similar to one that Case used to offer, in their 'Case Classic' line (1990s vintage). It was the 63091 whittler. It was a large one too (same ballpark as your RR). The Case Classic knives were all carbon steel, I believe. Not sure if it was the true CV or not.

The '091 pattern whittler had a large spear main blade (instead of the clip pictured on your RR). This pattern can still be seen quite often on the 'bay.

Edited to add:
Case's current line offers the 6391 Cigar Whittler. Basically the same large whittler pattern (4-1/2" closed) as the '091 Case Classic, but the current ones are all stainless.

I've never tried one quite that large. The Schrade 804 at 3 3/4" is as large as I've gone in a whittler pattern, and it gets a bit awkward at times for detail work. I suppose if I used whittlers for something besides whittling, I might feel differently.
