As you can see I was able to get on a couple of times during the blackout and when I saw no posts I got this very empty feeling inside. Sort of like going to a party and discovering you are the only one there -- didn't like it one bit but I got a day off and I guess that's the upside.

I'll put up a UBDOTD to celebrate.

More than I would have thought. I miss it weekends enough when I can't get to a computer.

It was something getting in last night and seeing that you were about the only one who posted something new, Uncle. It was creepy, alright.

For whatever reason, I was one of the few who folks weren't affected by the recent connectivity problems. I was able to get to all of the forums & navigate around at will. However, it was very much like visiting a ghost town. I'm happy to finally see other people posting.

And to repay James for his courtesy in letting us talk about BF over there, we should let folks know that he has turned off the spellcheck this morning, and KF is now running at full speed again.

now this is more like it: we're back AND there's a UBDOTD. Getting locked out of HI is a real stinker. But Bill, isn't there sort of by definition supposed to be a UBDOTD EVERY day?

Well it goes to show you that we do pay attention.

Good to have things back to 'normal', granted I don't know if that term applies that much around here.

Rene,
I connect through Road Runner (Time Warner Cable) in NYC. I'll probably jinx myself by saying this but they have been fairly reliable.
