At first I thought it was because these have liners, maybe the torsen bars are softer, but so does my friend's OCC and that one fires like a normal frame lock...

this is a PGT that i edc, but my late G10 was a bit slow too.

does maybe a frame lock torsen bar fit?

Each different model is "tuned" for what Kershaw feels is an appropriate opening speed. On my desk right now are 2 Blurs, a MC Ti/ZDP, Pack Rat, Random Leek, and a Boa. They all seem to fire at differing speeds. From what I can tell, the bigger blades seem to have more snap to them.

I just recently added a 1660TSW to my humble Kershaw Collection and noticed that it opens soft also. Sometimes it opens and the lock engages (hear that "snap") and other times it opens 3/4 of the way and stops

The bigger blade size makes sense that it will open a bit more aggressively, because of the weight. With this Leek, I just have to snap the flipper a little harder to open it all the way ;).

Rook, give your Leek time to break-in. I have experienced this too, and with an evening of flipping whilst watching tee vee it usually loosens up nicely. I did get one once that needed a little pivot adjustment.

Yeah well mine had been used for a while, probably time for a cleaning too but I adjust the screws all the time.

I'm going to open up 2 different ones tonight and try swapping the bars... if they're the same

I have the 1660g10, and I think it fires just as quickly and smoothly as my composite shallot, or my chive and scallion, or any of the other Kershaw assisted knives I own. I'm curious to see how swapping the torsion bar will affect it.

It's not the torsion bars, they worked the same.

Maybe it's just all in my head, as the liner lock doesn't SNAP as hard
