My 8" Mora has this very sharp point compared to the smaller ones. Is there a specific reason? What is this designed for?

What is the purpose on a thin-bladed Mora? I'd guess that the knife is intended for filleting & boning, so piercing ability and a skinny tip is preferred to a stronger tip for wood-work.
