Anybody own a FOX 479 Karambit?

My father said he has always wanted a karambit and after helping him do quite a bit of research, we finally decided on the FOX 479.

He received it in the mail today and I must say, it's a very well made piece of kit and quite possibly THE SHARPEST knife I have ever seen w/ a factory edge. (slices through news print almost as if it wasn't even there at all)

I've been trying to show him how to use the wave feature when deploying. He's a little rusty but I just told him to practice.

Anyways, I was just curious if anyone else owns one of these most exceptional blades and what you thought of it.

I actually kind of dig it, most branding on knife blades I don't care for but at least w/ this they try to make it look all regionally correct w/ the Persian style font.

This is relevant to my interests. Despite the most intimidating thing I face in a day being finding a parking spot at my school, the unabashed mall ninja in me really wants the silver-twill-handled model.

... Okay, so, having just looked at that image, the giant "Karambit" is pretty obnoxious. Also, it kinda looks like someone tried to write the word with the International Phonetic Alphabet.

I had two Fox 599 trainers that myself and a buddy used to practice karambit/kali fighting for a little while (it's a fun thing to play around with but I learned pretty quick that it's not an effective defense option).

The knives were well built, very smooth operation and a nice wave action. I would recommend the smaller 599 just because the size isn't really a factor in karambits but how you use them. I don't remember the 599 having the rather tacticool 'Karambit' on the side, just the Fox-related text.

The picture makes it look a LOT bigger than it is...trust me. Like King said, the 599 is even a little smaller and Fox makes them even bigger than the 479. (especially the fixed blade model)

You should get one Comeup...they are RAD.
