T01_M.jpg I think I have one coming. Comes with bits etc, strange, and removable knife(according to the Spyderco Website). It looks like it might actually be useful.
Anybody?

I have 3, one 440C from the first run and 2 AUS8 factory seconds from the second run. They are a tad heavy, but quite useful.

I have the Byrd version. Useful tool. :)

Byrd run, what is the difference from the other versions? Its the newest version I take it. Never heard of the Byrd version, any information online about it? Maybe get a picture of it?
Thank you.

Never mind, I must have misspelled it, found some old threads with tons of information(including yablanowitz's comments).

The 440C I have is plain edge, the others are combo edge. The newer ones have a better magnetic bit retainer and there are a few other refinements as well. I did a review of the ByrdRench when it came out years ago, it may still be in the archives here.

I've had all 3 and they're all great. It's my favorite Spyderco serrated blade because the serrations are scalloped on the right side of the blade, making it more natural for right handed users to slice with. Right now I only have the Taiwanese version in AUS-8.

Thanks nephron nephron for bringing this up, I forgot I had one of the aus-8 Taiwan models.

It sure was fun reading the info. booklet to see what it supposed to do, a lot of details in a small package.

I hear they’re worth $400 on eBay.
They don't come up very often, but I saw one recently on there asking $299 or make offer. I didn't see what it went for, it was the second gen in nice shape. The first gen supposedly goes for the most and 3rd the least.
