Last summer we had a gardening thread going that was pretty cool. I was just curious if anybody planted this year. I just put mine in this morning (I know it's a little late, but whatever  ) This years menu looks like
  • Grape cherry tomatoes
  • Valley girl tomatoes
  • Jalapeno peppers
  • Habenero peppers
  • Hot cherry peppers
  • Red bell peppers
  • butternut squash
  • Zucchini
  • Bush beans
  • Broccoli
  • Pickling cukes
  • Regular cukes
  • Basil
  • Oregano
  • Sage
  • Thyme
  • French tarragon
  • Rosemary
  • Pole beans

I'll try to get some pics up in the next day or 2.

Karen is growing several herbs and onions this year. I'm really hoping that the Nasturtiums she planted will grow well. They have become one of my favorite foods.

nice list Nick -

We have only planted flowers in our containers.

I will put in a new tree to replace one that did not last through the rough winter we had, but no vegetables this year for me.

best

never planted them. I'll have to check them out

I had never had them until one day we were walking past a store that had them growing out front. She asked the store owner if she could pick a flower and was told to take as many as she wanted. I thought she was insane. I was wrong. She gave me a flower to eat and it was fantastic. We have them in salads quite often now.

I planted a few weeks ago. Like 30 tomato plants all kinds of variety. Like 30 pepper plants. Habanero jalapeño bells winks dragon peppers ect ect. 2 50 foot rows of potato's. I found some really awesome heirloom purple potato's. They look awesome. I hope they turn out well. 400 bulbs of garlic are up and running.
Mad broccoli and cabbage. Also some onions.

My wife got out and planted most of ours, she put them in today! Everything except our tomatoes! She'll get those put in when she gets back home from Florida next week! She's just going to transplant them to larger containers for now! She got onions, cabbage, garlic chives that come up on their own every year, dill, parsley, and a few other herbs put in! Things are coming along pretty well, for just her working on the job! I can't get out anymore to help her do that kind of work! She just has to plant what she thinks she can take care of on her own! She's not in as good of shape anymore either but, better than me!

Now that's a garden you have there grunt soldier! That looks real good, and was a lot of work! The woman put up a couple of jars of Dandelion jelly yesterday! Yum!

We will be planting ours soon. Got my starts under a grow light in the kitchen. I think the cops think I'm growing dope. Although the helicopters are less frequent this year than some. We are a bit later than we wanted to be, but we always are, and still we do pretty well. We are still eating the green beans, pickles, beets, and salsa we canned last year.

I built another small raised bed this year, I'm up to 3. Got some tomatoes and cukes planted. Also, lettuce, radishes, cilantro, basil, and oregano. The chives and asparagus are holdovers from last year.

we also have cucumbers going, forgot that :)

planning to put in some watermelons soon as well (late, I know :s)

Tomato, green bean, snap pea, jalapeño, hot banana, yellow bell, eggplant, and a handful of different herbs all went in this year. Milwaukee has some terrible clay soil, so we've been working hard at breaking some of that down with gypsum every year.
