I just picked up this Boker-Brend and was curious to know if someone remembers appox. what year they were made. I think they made one with all G10 scales, one with G10 and (ss or Ti ?) bolsters, and maybe one with cocobola or similar wood? Curious also to know if the bolsters are stainless or Ti ? They have a slightly rough texture which makes me think titanium, but maybe not?
Also would like to know how many were made. The lock bar is stamped 1575.
Really like this one (except for the tip down carry)...very smooth action. 440C blade...made in Solingen Germany.

Any info appreciated.

Thanks!

I recall seeing this reviewed in Tactical Knives magazine a few years ago—maybe about 7-to-10 years ago?

Brend definitely has a distinct look to his grinds that make them easy to recognize.

I agree with the "too bad about tip-down only" comment too.

I would have picked one up except for that.

I was guessing around 10 years, but a friend said he was thinking maybe a little older....around 2000 -2001

I picked one up around 1998/9. Wasn't crazy about it. Sent it back. Not the knife's fault.

Sounds like it might be even older than I thought.
Thanks for the info
I had it shipped to my office before we moved across town- I remember getting it in my old work space- that would place it pretty much '99.

This exact design was used in the 1999 Annual Damascus knife by Boker and with the design attributed to Walker Brend. In that knife, the bolsters were high grade steel and Madagascar ebony was used for the scales.
