Pretty good show. Anybody know what knife Joe was using on this episode? Usually be has a tops surv tac 7 but last night he had this double edged tanto. It looked to be bead blasted with serrations on the top edge. About a 6-7 blade.

I was wondering the same thing. It was certainly damascus as you can see the etching during the close-up when he cut open the rabbit, and I know I saw it on at least one other episode this season.

Google? "List of Knives Used on Dual Survival" first result.

edit: if you don't want to check the full list then for this specific episode it was a "Griffin Tactical Custom Special Ops Multipurpose Knife".

Oh cool thanks, I had seen that list but at the time I posted they hadn't updated it to show that episode. Nice looking knife though

I think They made Cody out to be the bad guy. It was obvious that the show wanted to move in a different direction.

That name is just a string of catch phrases. What goes through a persons mind when they read a name like that and then they still want to buy the thing?

Just like many, many knife names, I'm sure that one was created by a marketing department who knew the name would "work." Me, I would a tried to cram "bushcraft," "survival," and "zombie" in the name somewhere too just to make sure I covered all my bases.

Lol @ "Double edged, hollow ground, recurve tanto. Certainly wouldn't be my choice for an outdoors knife, but then I'm no Spec Ops operator."

Lol I like how Cody carries around a small pukko knife or sometimes a basic Filipino knife... That tanto thing is ugly as hell. Joe might as well bring a ballistic knife with him, then at least he could shoot it at small animals.

Its appropriate for the direction they are taking the show. Clearly using a pukko isn't X-treme tacti-awesome enough. And a double edge hollow ground recurve tanto, and the type that carries one is.

But hey...it ain't my show.

What about a pukko with a black blade?

I can't stand Joe. The show would be much better if they had fired Joe instead of Cody.

So true. I would rather have Cody with me in any survival situation than Joe. I loved that whole exchange between Cody and Joe.

Joe: "You are wearing shorts. You are wearing socks. You are jeopardizing the mission. You are endangering my life." Cody: "I am fine. I have trained for this. I teach winter survival. F U Joe."

Priceless.
