my local cutlery just got in one of the new enduras.

pretty cool. heftier than the old ones.
i like the more rounded scales.

still waitin for the delica.

The endura/delica I played with felt VERY nice in the hand, though I miss the bare essential only FRN, unlinered knives

I got to see tje pre-production knives a few months ago. I like 'em a lot but I too will miss the lightness of the unlined FRN models.

..thought that you might say that Spyderco has gone to the "Super cyrogenically quenched surgical 420J" with up to an incredible 15%-20% carbon!!!then I woke up screaming!!!!A horrible nightmare to be sure.Well now I've got to get myself down to the local knife emporiums and see for myself about these new toys..:D ;)

Quite the opposite--they're offering VG-10 blades on their "low-end" folders. Pretty cool...

You probably mean .15 to .20%.

The new endura and delica are exactly what people have been asking for. I really think they'll please people. The skeletonized recessed scales add a lot of frame stiffness while adding only the tiniest bit of thickness. New handle feels great, blade is great, screwed construction instead of rivets, traction grooves on the back of the blade. The main tradeoff is that it's a bit heavier than the old endura/delica. But the added frame strength really feels worth it.

A new Delica is on my wish list for 2006, and it may be the first I order when the new year comes. But I'm debating over plain edge or fully serrated.

Anyone know how long till they will bring out the new endura with the wave??.
