I have one. It's a sweet knife. I got the XL, and it completely turned me off of an ESEE 6. Nicer in all ways, save maybe the warranty, as ESEE is nigh unbeatable in that department. The Tex Creek XL is a good all around knife. A bit large for bushcraft blades, which tend not to go above 5" in length, or 1/8" thick. At 6.1" long and 3/16" thick, it is robust enough to get the job done. Sharp enough to slice without making a mess, tough enough to baton through hardwood without chipping, not too big to clean and dress game, all with a comfortable handle that doesn't create hotspots. The handle may be a bit small for people with big hands, but shouldn't be an issue for everybody else. I was able to make feather sticks, dress a rabbit, baton through a small sapling, cut food for lunch (after being cleaned of course), with the blade requiring only minor touching up to get it hair popping sharp again.
Perhaps the most notable feature is TOPS's new black river wash coating. TOPS has treated the blade to look "used", giving it the feel of a well traveled tool. A differential heat treat line is visible running up the length of the edge, though I'm not sure if this is a real HT line or just cosmetic. Either way, it adds to the aesthetic value of the knife, and after a single outing of moderate use, the finish hasn't worn even a bit.
The knife comes with a "premium" leather sheath. The sheath is nice, though nothing particularly special. Still, it keeps the knife fairly snug, though don't go storing it long term in the sheath. No retention strap, so if that matters to ya, maybe someone here can help you out in that area. You can go kydex if you like, but it kinda ruins the feel.
