For the first time since we offered them I've got in a couple of katanas that are not already spoken for. If I can get the time I'll add them to our shopping site but I wanted to give our forumites first shot -- at $50 off regular. We'll deliver these katanas to your door for $195.

Wood handled and nothing fancy but guaranteed to chop thru the cow spine and cut the tatami (is that the right name?) man to shreds with no damage to the blade. Plain leather scabbard.

Call or email if you want one.

I have a lady friend that would love one, but alass I can't afourd one at this time. :( Is there any chance that you could post a picture and some information so I can at least drool?

Woohoo! I didn't miss out this time! Of course this comes right after my boss tells me that we are going to be limited to 8 hour days, so I won't have that extra overtime money to spend on new toys. Oh well, at least it's happening after I managed to snag one of these. :D

I'll try to get some pix up in the AM. That Hanuman is still in the blem box and I've got to get a pix of it, too.

The one in the pix is made by Bura. I have two by Bura and one by Sanu. The one in the pix has a very small crack in the handle that's been repaired by Bura himself. We'll let that one go for $175.

Ah! Then those probably are what they look like in the picture on the blade - marks from the hammer on the blade that aren't completely evened out under the grinding and polishing. My Sanu shows those marks.

To me that says that it really was hand forged.
On a katana/dao selling for several thousands, it would be unacceptable. On one selling for under $300, it tells me I'm getting a tough blade that is the real thing for a bargain. The guy who said you were selling a thousand dollar blade for under $300 might be off a bit - but I bet he was in the general vicinity.

No problem, Guy, and if this is your first trip to the HI forum, welcome to the cantina. Looks like you'll fit right in.
