I need to buy about 9 square feet of .090" black or carbon fiber pattern kydex would be nice. Does anybody have a good deal on some?

I have some 0.090" kydex, but it's already cut into pieces. What size do you need?

I got mine by calling around local plastics places until I found what I wanted.

I used to get it from a guy on ebay in 12"x12" pieces...but can't seem to find his info...

Bruce u bad boy...:D
Knifekits.com has several sizes of kydex, rivets and all the stuff to make what you want.
We just added 14 new pockets clips to our line in standard finish and black Take a look!

Darrel, Kydex is made in 34 standard colors !! You don't have to do the Goth thing !!!

I'm going to print and hang this thread on my wall
so I can use it as black-mail to trade for cool stuff from time to time :p :D :D

Mete,
That is right! We have a few ideas in the hopper for our own designs in Kydex. This is future projects. Black is a best seller!:D

I just have a few hunters to finish up and they need kydex. most any size will do but Darrel is right "black is the best seller"
Darrel, I didnt realize you were so closely associated with Knifekits.com. They have some good stuff there for folders.

Yep, I am pretty close to KnifeKits.com and we have all sorts of fresh, unique supplies for knife makers.

The original purpose of KnifeKits.com was to give beginners a solid grasp of the basics. We thought that first-rate kits could be more than a product line for us, but a learning tool for beginners the master the basics. I think it has worked out very well.

We designed folder kits so beginners could study them while they put them together, and learn why good folders work the way they do - especially in pivot and lockup. After building a few kits, beginners can go out on their own and start making knives like the pros. You should see some of the beginner's work in our photo gallery (and hear how the Old-Guard makers squeal about it!)

When I was starting out in the late 80's the market was full of great looking dress-tactical folders that didn't quite work like they were intended to. I saw this as harmful to collectors and ultimately bad for the knife world I loved. This wasn't ego, this was real concern. I just wanted to help raise the bar and protect collectors - the people who make all this possible for all of us. When I had the financial ability, we started KnifeKits.com as a way to evenly distribute all the things that the best makers taught me.

Right now, we are expanding our line of fixed blade, folder and gun parts. We bought a CNC 7-axis machine that will allow us to design almost all of our hardware now and build it right here in the USA. We have dozens of new designs coming out soon, like the 14 new clip styles we added this week.

We'll keep coming out with new supplies for knife makers because we want to offer more than just the same old-same old.

I hope this helps explain things. :D

I wish you guys would get some more .090 woodland camo Kydex, or olive drab. I love olive drab kydex but can't find it anywhere. There's a huge plastics supplier right down the street from me but all they carry is .060 black. Way too thin and way too black.

We did carry it for a while.
We had to buy a truck load to get it. Then it took forever to sell it. The investment was over 10,000.00 to get it made.
That is alot of cheese to be sittng for 3 years.:jerkit:

it sounds like darrel ralph is helping out the newbs like me! well i can say i appreciate it, as im sure many, many others do as well! its nice that people have a real concern as opposed to some one trying to "chase the allmighty buck"
great job keep up the good work

Darrel, Im very impressed. Thanks for helping us all. You have been at the front of designing the best folders I know for many years. I just didnt relate the business with yours. So who owns Knifekits.com?

Bruce,
Thanks for the good words.
Knifekits.com is owned by Alex Whetsell and myself.
Alex owns Atlanta Virtual also.:D

I have a question for Darrell. Have you thought about other colors of kydex than the standard camo? I have been trying to find digital camo and Realtree camo Kydex without any luck. I have found it, but I don't have the funds to purchase 12 4x8 sheets. Or the place to store it. I think the realtree and other "name brand" camo might sell, but then again, it may just be personal preference.

We had 3 differnt styles and sizes at one time.
We may be interested in more.
Ill see. We always try to serve as well as we can.

Blade-Tech uses digital camo Kydex, they must have had a large run of it made. I've seen Advantage camo or Real-Tree (can't remember which) in the Busse forums. It's out there some where.

We will have these colors in next week.
Keep an eye out. If you donmt see them on the site right away them and you want them please email Knifekits.com.
