Not sure if characters are Japanese or Chinese. I know some were made in Manchuria.

Some chips on edge. Fair polish. Not sharp near habaki.
Any info appreciated. Just picked up today at pawn shop.

Each and every seppa is numbered and has a character alongside.

But they're kanji, so they should be reasonably legible by anyone familiar with either language. They aren't any characters I recognize, but they appear valid.

On the second image, the number "67" is quite visible.

Do you know how old it is? Im not really knowledgeable about this kind of thing but it almost looks like a WWII sword, which I guess might be why some of the parts are numbered...im probably way off

I don't believe you are wrong at all. In fact I would almost guarantee that it is WW2.
What I want to know is who made and where or when.
I had one similar and it was made in the old method but from US scrap metal. I believe it is still a folded steel blade.
My last one did not have a wavy temper line.

Even the rust color says fairly new.

Just trying to pinpoint it for my own reference.

Yeah, a lot of the ones ive seen are folded but dont have a hamon. I cant really help translate the mei.
