Quite keen on getting myself a Hawk or two to mod - dont realy want to go down the CS route and my searching has highlited there guys as a source of hand made Hawks

Hawks

Anyone bought one, whats was the service and quality like - would I realy be getting what I paid for? They seem a great price!

The prices would lead me to believe they are Asian made, it's a crap shoot. Cold steel hawks are also Asian but they are proven. Steve Liley at cold creek forge is a great guy to work with and super nice hawks. He made me 6 throwers from scratch and had them mailed in one week from date of order. If you're going to go inexpensive I'd suggest cold steel, if you want to spend a little more on a forged hawk call Steve. There are lots of makers here to check out as well, I just have experience with Steve so can recommend him highly.

Best regards

Robin

These Are mostly made in India hawks.
Quality could be hit and miss. If you don't expect a Wetterlings or GB quality, they will be OK for throwing, but I doubt they would hold up for bushcraft.

I have dealt with the company last year, they are very decent folks.

for the price you might as well go with cold steel, they are proven and if something does happen they have an excellent customer service dept.

My favorite 'hawk is the larger-than-standard Iroquois Hawk I custom ordered from Fort Turner. The weight, bit thickness and forging are all excellent and it's wicked sharp.

And made by hand in USA.

I like it so much I'm going to request another one, but with the addition of a hammer poll.
