I'm in coeur d'alene for a vacactaion. Has anyone been before for a tour? What can you buy there, anything special?

Also, any other cool knife stores in or around the area?

Thanks

I toured last summer. I believe it is best if you schedule one. There wasn't anything "special" in the store when I was there. The tour was definitely worth the stop.

They have a small company store and, depending on what is available at the time, it may have some build outs etc, but otherwise just the regular line.

The place looks like a lodge inside the front entrance, and there is a super-cool "museum" of Buck products in the small upper balcony area of the "lodge", where you can look into the factory from above to see what you can see from that vantage.

I rode my motorcycle all the way out there one year, and found that they have scheduled tours and if you arrive 20 minutes after the last tour you are out of luck, so look into the regular tour times.

Well worth the visit though - after all, it's BUCK!

In the town there is a "wild game" eatery - it was cool and good!

Thanks for these pictures mq. We toured it in 2008 at the 20 year reunion. Well worth the trip. DM

David, 2009 was the 26 year reunion. I thought I saw you at the 25th.

Goto the factory. Good times. They have some Blems for sale plus most of the lineup. Call Monday morning for a plant tour and get 25% discount. No open toed shoes. Large Cabela's across the freeway.

David - The 25th reunion was in 2013. 2008 would have been the 20th. Next year is the 30th.

I toured the factory at the 25th and yes it was well worth the time.

My memory is as good as it used to be. It's just not as long. I went to the 20th. and the 25th. and took a plant tour each time. We also took a tour of the offices which probably is not included on a regular plant tour. One of the more interesting areas to me was the repair department where they do the spa treatments.
The museum, factory floor, and factory store are all in one building. Try to visit them all.
