I love this pattern, and since its out of the vault now I thought I might start adding some to my collection. It seems like within a pattern there will often be differences in fit and finish between different handle materials. Example, my dark red bone peanut in CV had a much better fit and finish than other peanuts I saw in the store.

So has anyone bought a baby butterbean lately? If so what handle material was it and how was the fit and finish?

I haven't bought any of the new ones. The only Baby Butterbean I own was made in 2001. Fit and finish is fine, has some minor blade scrape like many opposite-end crinked blade knives do. I just don't like the Butterbean or Canoe patterns for some reason. I have one of each but have no plans of adding others.

I just picked up three since the family was vacationing in Pigeon forge, TN. No issues that I saw. Love that pattern for a small edc that doesn't seem to ever raise eyebrows and disappears in my pocket.

Well I didn't last long. I had some free time yesterday afternoon, went to the knife store and came home with this. Fit and finish is better than on a couple of previous baby butterbeans I have. Walk and talk is very good, but there is a tiny amount of blade rub. My experience is that its hard to find a small knife with two blades on a single backspring without blade rub. Plus that doens't hurt the functionality of the knife one bit. So I am very happy with it. I put it in my pocket to carry to the office today.
