I own 5 heads, and have went through about 15 handles (I throw alot), but, I broke the first three heads, same break, a crack started about 2" back from the bottom, and went nearly to the top. I called CS/ATC and they got me replacements for them PDQ, no questions. Great support, all I had to do was fill out some form. I'm not bagging on them, I love my Trailhawks, just curious. Moose

I only have one trail hawk; I used to throw it a lot until I broke the handle, and I've only recently put a new one on it. I never had any problems with the head. I also have two Frontier hawks (old model) that I throw a lot more, and neither of them has ever broken either. I guess if you throw them ALL THE TIME or something, they will eventually break, but other than that it would surprise me. At least their customer service was good enough that you were able to get the heads replaced.

Hey Moose
Are you saying the crack started 2inchs behind the bottom of the cutting edge? If so that's kind of interesting as the trail hawks "heat treated" edge is about 2 inches wide. I also noticed that the new spike and frontier as well as the trail had been ground on the top edge the width of the hardened edge. Sounds like it's cracking right down the line between the hardened edge and the soft back. Do you have some pictures of the cracked heads?

Regards

Robin

That's what I was thinking. I don't have any pics, as this was about a year ago, and the heads were returned. I was throwing quite alot, got pretty good at it. Like I said, with that much force and impact, I wouldn't expect anything to hold up indefinitely. CS/ATC wanted the heads back, which I gladly shipped them, and got brand new heads in return. CS/ATC had great customer service, and great products, the Trailhawk is still my favorite. Thanks, ya'll. Moose
