Anyone build a cabin/shelter with a Busse?

Hey all,

I'm wondering if anyone has built a small shelter or cabin with a large Busse. I just picked up a FBMLE on the For Sale forum. I would like to build a small structure-- emphasis on small-- with it, using 3 to 4" diameter trees. Maybe like a lean-to type structure. In addition to chopping, I would like to see what a sharp V-grind would do on the FBMLE in regards to drawing/shaving. Or whittling peg ends.

I've seen some makeshift shelters crafted by handy forumites and their Busses' over the years. They're here somewhere but you'll have to search for them though cause I can't recall the threads.

Many times. The BM is a great line. If I could only have one that would be it....ooops I do have that old beater 1/100 SHBM:p

I have built lots of shelters. I did a demonstration using my ASH-1, how just a knife can do everything and even more than an ax or saw can do.

Shelters, yeah, lots of them. Cabins? Uh... obviously not. I'm not going to build a cabin with a knife unless I really have to! :D

Thanks for the links, rbm.

I'm not talking a full-bore lodge, or merely a small place to lie covered for one night. Something in between, like a lean-to sized shelter made with 3 to 4" horizontals (walls) and purlins (roof). Whittle some peg ends, use the smaller NMSFNO for carving out the holes.

I would imagine the BMs could do some fine shaving and drawing, too.

I'm going to try it when I get the FBMLE.

I'll take pics.

I couldn't right now.

But if I stacked all the Busse's I have just right, I could build a pretty big doghouse. :D
