Anyone buy a matriarch or waved Endura and swap scales from another Endura?

Really want a black waved Matriarch with brown FRN scales. I would guess someone could do this with any special steel or blade profiled Endura.

I'd get a regular Endura as a bonus I guess!

I have seen it done before here on the forums, Frankenstein Spyderco or something like that

greetings,
really like the foliage green endura. don't care for serrations. now have a waved, plain edge foliage green. easy as pie. good luck on your swap. put the lock bar in last. works real easy that way. take care.

Just found a brown Endura for under $55 shipped. It's on it's way here, time to find a deal on a black waved Matriarch

The only caveat would be that Endura 4's made before the Matriarch 2 was introduced have a small semi-circular "notch" in the backspacer for the lanyard hole. The Matriarch 2 handle, and those of Endura 4's made after it was introduced have a much larger "notch", to accommodate the tip of the Matriarch 2's blade. The older Endura 4 backspacer can probably be modified, but would need to be in order to use it with a Matriarch 2 blade.

So, I swapped scales, didn't lose any parts, so that was good.

My problem is my scales seem be bowed out right in the center. Something is right on both knives. The lock doesn't have enough tension on it when the blade is deployed.

What did I do wrong? Not gonna lie, it was kind of a PITA to take this these apart and get them back together, but I am new to disassembling folders
