Anyone care to share your opinions of UZI knives?

I am looking toreal answers as to whether their fixed blades are worth dealing with? I am currently looking at the UZI Ranger so called "Special Forces" Ranger and the Defender.

They are made by united cutlery. That used to mean junk steel knuckle guards and crazy holes in the blades. However united has teamed up with some people like Fred Carter to make some decent folder designs and on some of their knives they are using 440 steels. That is better steel than Cold steel and Buck is using on many of their blades.

I have seen the UZI knives and I think they are 440c steel. The handles look like they have some sharp uncomfortable spots on them. The quality looks almost on par with CRKT. If they are priced less than comparable CRKT product they aren't a bad deal.

How is $60 for a fixed blade Ranger?

I just looked up the knife on a website and it says 420 steel. I thought I read in one of the knife mags they were 440c.

$60 is way to high for 420 steel.
