Anyone carry a Becker knife in combat?

I know there are a few guys here that have. It would be cool to see pics of em in combat. Even cooler would be to see one on the news being carried by a soldier. Thanks for your service guys.

murph has, to be sure.

thanks for your service too :) bastid :)

As someone who flew thousands of men into combat over 30+ years, I can tell you that it was very, very rare to see a large fixed blade knife being carried by anyone.

The BK77 was a great field knife. I did carry a few other knives to test during my 2nd deployment in the infantry. The only knife I felt was a better war knife/weapon was the real 3/8" thick Kurkri carried by the British Gurkha's that we did missions with. My BK77 was no match for it nor would a Becker BK4 Machax IMOO. Those 4 foot 11 inch British trained Nepalese are some of the nicest and toughest little bastards in the World. It was my pleasure to work with them. We who live outside of the wire were all dual carry....rifle/pistol (M4/M9), except the Gurkha's who carry the British Rifle/Kurkri.

The one knife that surprised me was the Glock 81 sawback Field knife. Not the greatest knife, but what a great deal at only 7oz to the Infantry Soldier's load (back).

Thank you for your service, AW.

I know of quite a few folks that sported a BKT into combat, most of which are not members here.

Glad you made it home.

Thanks so much for your service, AW. Your sacrifice goes a long way.

Murph should pop in here soon, to show you what he carried.

I've carried a Kabar next gen bowie, sog recon bowie, blackhawk beshara xsf-1, but i always find I go back to the issued m7. The Beckers were a bit too heavy for my taste, after all the other gear that you have to carry. Plus noting says that you mean business more than a fixed bayonet
