I am looking to buy one for EDC.... a clean basic fance and case...definately not the flushing pheasant/12 point buck type.

Not looking to spend a ton, $50-$75 range. I would like it to have luminious hands and prefer a wind movement...but quartz will do. Looks like swiss army makes one that may fit the bill, but wanted to see if anyone else had any thoughts.

My father has wrists like King Kong. Wristwatches tend not to fit him, so one of his lady friends got him a pocket watch.

I think it's a cheap Chinese one, but it's gone several months without breaking, if that can be considered an achievement.

I have one but don't carry it. I have too much in my pockets already.

Same as me. I bought a Bulova with chain and knife a couple of year ago and it sits in my drawer. I am too used to flicking my wrist to get the time and not digging through my pockets. You won't realize how ofter you glance at you watch until you get a pocket watch.

If you get one be careful of going in the sun with out a wrist watch. I fried that area one day, since the skin is not accustomed to the sun.

I carry an old Ingersoll dollar watch. (wind up) I usually carry it in my jeans watch pocket. It has an arrow head I found in 1964 attached to the FOB strap.

I will carry one if I am doing really rough work or am working somewhere were it is rocket hot ( a steel ship with no ac/ventilation in august comes to mind), mine is a cheap $20 Timex. I think it is hard to find a rugged windup pocket watch for a decent price.
