I bought a Stars and Stripes Jack knife a few weeks ago, and I must say it makes a very good carry knife. I have tac folders and of course need to support my balisong sickness, but this case just begs to be carried. Do any of you guys carry one of these? It's the kind of knife I would feel comfortable carrying in all areas without alarming the sheeple.

One of the knives I often carry coon hunting is an old Case Muskrat with jigged bone scales. It has one broken blade but the other one still does a fine job of undressing the ringtails.

Just last week, I bought a Case Copperlock with the Chrome Vanadium blade and the yellow handle. Also got the leather sheath that Case made to fit it. Total cost? About $34, tax included. That's a lot of knife for the money. Blade is very cleanly ground, and has no blade play at all. I could do without the cheezy yellow handles, but I still like the knife.

The yellow scales were made for the working man who couldn't afford to loose his knife. The yellow stood out better than brown bone scales if dropped in the leaves or dirt.

Not quite blaze orange but beter than nothing.

I carry a small Coke Bottle, Damascus Case as a small Sunday/Dress knife some times, very sheeple friendly.

I have a few very old Cases and some only 30 years or so old, I've carried them all at one time or another, I'm also looking to buy a Doctors knife and a Russ Lock in the near future.

I believe the real old one were made very well, than in the 70's the quality began to slip as the overseas markets began making better quality knives. Up until the last few years the quality has been an issue, but since Zippo took over, they've updated their Mnfg. procedures and quality is on a rise again.

I'll always carry a Case, it's traditional.

I bought a green trapper a while ago and it goes everywhere now.

I also am very partial to the doctor knives.

I have a swell end jack knife, think that is what it is called, that Ipull out and carry every once in a while. I gave this knife to my father for Christmas in 1987. The knife was made in the late 1940's or early 1950's and has stag handles. I inherited the knife back when my father passed away in 1990. It is a fairly large knife with two blades that open out of the same end. One blade is a clip point that is about 3.25" and the other is a pen blade that is around 2.0". Blades are carbon steel so they really hold a good edge and the springs are good and tight and the knife really walks and talks. I bought the knife in near mint condition and it is still in very good shape!

Worn through a bunch of Sod Busters when I was young. Recently, started carrying a Russ Lock, just thrown into the pocket. Good cutting general use tools.

since getting my Baby Butterbean (bolsterless Shadow Bone), i can now honestly say i ALWAYS have a knife with me.

Always, Most of the time it’s a Damascus Red Bone Toothpick, or my Baby Butterbean, There great knives. :D

My main carry knife is a Case med stockman with a pen blade instead of a spey. It has autumn bone scales and CV steel. It is my main whittling knife too.

I have several Case knives and I carry a small stockman somtimes. A Stag handled Russlock goes to church with me on Sundays(my Strider AR needed some company):D

I'm not much for Case knives(lean more towards tactical knives), but after getting a Case Yellow-handled Trapper for my father-in-law for his birthday, I've seriously thought about getting one for myself. ;)

I just got a new Case Mini Copperlock in Autumn bone. Slim profile and lightweight, too. Nice bone handle. My biggest complaint about Case is that the edges are really very rough coming out of the box. They may be sharp, but they're sloppily finished. A few strokes across the ceramic side of my Meyerco Sharpen-It and it's better. High tech is nice, but nothing takes me back like the kind of knife my grandfather would have been proud to own.

I don't carry one, however I recently took up whittlin, so I have bought a couple in the past month and am very happy with them

I'm not a huge Case fan, but my workday EDC is a small two-blade equal-ender from the '70s, very similar to today's Eisenhower. Model number is 6279. This stainless is obviously not the greatest steel in the world but, for office use (I jockey behind a desk all day), it's fine. Nice, traditional jigged brown bone handles. Disappears in my pocket and gives me that warm feeling you get from carrying traditional slipjoints. :)

I bought a mini Copperlaock almost 2 years ago and since then I have collected 'traditional' slipjoints exclusively. I have severla Copperlocks (mini and full size). Case make very good looking knives, I think there handles are hard to beat for the price and they are so easy to sharpen. The fit and finish on mine are very good - I have heard their quality is a little hit and miss but improving.
I am thinking of adding a small knife to my EDC this year: either a Peanut or baby Butterbean. As you noticed a non knifenut reaction is more likey to be "Cool knife" rather than "Who ya gonna kill with that?"
