Anyone carrying one of these older AG Russell lockbacks?

I got this about 10 years ago. It's no longer on the AG Russell website and I haven't found too much info on the wider web about it. It's been in my knife drawer for quite a while and I just recently revisited it and have rekindled my fondness for it. I know these were available in several different handle materials - this one is cocobolo that has turned very dark over the years. Steel is VG10 with a 2 7/8" blade and is 4" closed. The handle shape almost makes we want to dub it a "Lanny's Drop point Lockback." :)

Anyway, I was wondering if anyone else has one of these and if so, do you carry it? I'm going to put this one into the weekly rotation for a while.

I don't know of this knife but it looks VERY similar to a Hiro knives model.

Maybe you will have some look by searching for it.

What with the steel and all it could very well have been made in Japan for AG Russell by the same manufacturer.

Best of luck finding out more info sir.

Thanks, scruffuk. Yes, this is made in Seki, Japan. I'll check out the Hiro connection. I imagine I could inquire directly with the fine folks at AG Russell for more info. It is a sweet piece.

Hey Zieg,

Well, this particular knife from AG Russell has long been discontinued, but I did find out while poking around the web that the model number is A345. I found this pic from their wesbite I had saved on my computer back then:
