Here is very off topic thread.

Rock climbing is an addiction for me, I just cannot control it, unfortunalty it is winter here and wet yet not cold enough to ice climb. I have 1000 dollars left from my laast trip to south america so I plan on taking a trip south to find some rock, I am also planing a road trip down into the states in june. If any of you who live down there climb or know of any good climbing areas I am look for destinations. Thanks.

I'm just starting. I climb indoors here at college, so i don't know about no rock. Icy as crap here, too. Good luck finding it. I sympathize with your obsession!

I am not a climber - but I do some caving...
Try cave-climbing - possible regardless of the season - but in the caves around here it is at 7°C relatively warm inside caves. - Some of the bigger caves are closed in winter due to bat-protection - but believe me - it is a new challenge to climb and just have the shaft of light your headlamp provides - but always remember never alone and never without telling someone outside - you cannot call for help from inside a cave. (well you can - but noone will find you).

Hey Grob,

I saw your reply to my thread about rock climbing--thanks for the idea. I may do some gym climbing in the future:)

But to answer your question: Down in my part of the U.S. (northeast) the place to ice climb is in the WHite Mountains of New Hampshire. Beyond that I could find out more specifically from some friends who are avid (ie, rabid) ice climbers , exactly where to go in the WHites.
